August 12, 2018 - From an excellent looking bottle, I gave this wine 6 hours of air this time before I started drinking it. It had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose offered up lemons, vanilla, marzipan, and white stone.
In the mouth, this wine was ripe with a lovely integrated texture (typical of Niellon) and firm acidty. The length was very good.
This wine was still quite young and not ready for prime time in my book. It has some edges and a bit of excess vanilla. It should continue to develop well. A very impressive Premier Cru that may pick up a point or so in 5-10 years. I am thinking the extended air showed me a different, and better, side of this wine. -

March 6, 2018 - From an excellent looking bottle, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The nose was pretty non-descript at first. After a few hours it showed lemon, baguette, and apple.
In the mouth, this wine had decent richness at first but not much structure. After a few hours it developed attractive acidity. Unfortunately, this acidity was not particularly well integrated with the wine.
This will never be a great wine (but it is not supposed to be one either). While certainly drinkable, it seems likely this is at just a bit of an awkward stage right now. It will probably get better with time but it is hard to be sure. -

March 30, 2014 - Past its prime. A bit oxidized at this point.

May 5, 2010 - Medium-gold color. Pretty nose of sweet hazelnuts, grapefruit and minerals. This in a really good place now with lovely hazelnut and lemon oil fruit and a lovely spicy, minerally complexity on the sappy, concentrated finish. This really surprised me tonight and was a wow wine with the crowd at dinner. Superb with no signs of pre-mox but it's perfectly mature and ready.
