July 12, 2017 - Z brought this. The age has helped the F.X. style calm down some. This is quite herbal - complex and savory. There's the Austrian mineral saline aspect, and some bitter peach pit. Just a bit of fruit left - hints of peach and banana. The palate is completely resolved and seamless - really nice. Flavors of herbs, broth, minerals - saline, again some peach and a bit of tropicals. It's somewhat brassy, as expected, but carries it off in a polished manner. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16/20.

July 13, 2016 - In a great place now. Light petrol aromas with a hazelnut tinge and white pepper. Rich and oily on the palate, but still nice tension. Ripe dry apple interwoven with floral and zesty pepper spices plus a lovely hint of sweetness. Awesome stuff and perfect with Vietnamese food tonight under the stars. Drink or hold, but likely at peak pleasure.
