December 28, 2023 - A bit reductive. Fully mature, needed time in glass to open up, but decanting would have been too much. Some tropical fruits with dried apricot, lemon grass and baking spice. A nice wine, but time to drink up.

May 21, 2023 - Solid delicious mature white. Not a lot of complexity but a lot of body. Rich French white. Perfect with country style dishes or with spicy seafood (steamed mussels from Silver Palate Good Times Cookbook). I'd also pair with skate or sole muniere.

    October 11, 2020 - almost a sweet wine...
The wine looks blonde colored. The legs are medium. The body is medium. The wine has juicy texture.

July 6, 2018 - Drank this today at New Ubin Seafood with a close colleague. We had foie gras with soft boiled egg, rib eye steak, potato wedges and grilled squid.

Light yellow in colour with fragrant floral notes on the nose. Some nutty flavours, coupled with white stone fruits and peaches and melon were evident on the nose. On the palate this wine presents good weight to hold up against the foie gras and grilled squid.

Some waxy notes and limstone flavours with green apples and fresh minerality. A very well made wine.

May 11, 2018 - Dinner with Tim, Elliott, Ashish, and Roger (Tim's): (blind)
    Medium gold color.
Almond and dried peach. 14% alcohol (close - 14.5%), nutty oxidative notes - well integrated. Almond. Slight oak impression.
Stylistic and structural bitterness - elevated bitterness. The wine seems defined by bitterness, in a good way. Medium acid.

In conclusion, this is a slightly oaked oxidative white. Pronounced hazelnut - 20% new oak:

Guess: Northern Rhône Marsanne roussane blend 2010 - Hermitage.

    Actually 2010 opalie de coutet. 14.5% $40

Conclusion: I'm extremely puzzled by the structural bitterness here, but this is a very good wine - just in an unusual style.
