November 20, 2023 - A little fruit bomb, very easy to drink! Nice aroma of slightly earthy fruit, a medium finish!

November 8, 2023 - Earthy, mineral and graphite notes on the nose; midbodied and well balanced. Surprised when revealed to be a 2003 - does not show the heat of the vintage.

October 11, 2023 - Still going strong. I withdraw previous suggestion to drink up in 2 years.

October 4, 2023 - The 2003 Branaire Ducru shows a slightly liqueuer-like red fruit profile, full of red cherry and raspberry alongside musk, rose, espresso, and dark chocolate. A little beef blood and pencil follow on the palate. Though the details are a little bit loosely-defined on the nose and palate, it isn't a 2003 that suffers from the worst excesses of the vintage. The palate is still reasonably tannic, but the loose brushstrokes and shortish finish suggest that this is probably best enjoyed over the next 5-10 years. Followed for 3 hours this seemed neither to gain nor to lose with air.

(lt Branaire-Ducru) Grab Bag Dear Friends, I suppose this could have been a second Friday Special (it seems we've had two lately) or a "free for all" special but let's call it a grab bag of interesting wine, most at prices that are eye-opening indeed. All are directly from the source with perfect provenance. Have a good weekend everyone - new TN's out next week and an update on the website chat room (we're getting close). - Jon Rimmerman 2006 Anselmet "Muller Thurgau" (bianco) This is an insane price - usually line-priced with the Chardonnay. 2004/2006 Anselmet "Petit Rouge" STRICT LIMIT 3/person Think the Le Prisonnier is interesting?
