November 21, 2017 - Smells awesome with a heft bit of VA. Crisp, pear powerful, long. Tart.

September 13, 2016 - Cracked my second bottle of this for Tonton's birthday down at Pawleys. Wines don't usually show quite as well in Pawleys for me, not sure if it's the travel leading to bottle shock (though I kill myself to keep everything as cool as possible), the glassware, or something in the air, but this bottle was an exception. Almost as sensational as my first bottle, this really got going after about an hour of air, with a nose that jumped out of the glass and a lovely clean finish. Typical sous voile profile, but more elegant than just about any other sous voile I've had. Also, I'll just note here that while I've loved my two bottles of the '09, my one bottle of '11 so far was vastly inferior. Hoping that '11 was an off bottle, or maybe I'm just a sucker for the big years (at least in sous voile Juras).

January 26, 2016 - Yup, definitely sous voile. Rich, nutty and oxidative. Great length and concentration. Generally just a excellent wine.

    November 9, 2015 - For Madrid-PSG:

Woah, this was crazy good. As Keith notes, this is a wine that delivers both those complex oxidative/voile notes of nuts, brine, toffee, and smoke, and a lovely pure fruit with notes of bruised apple and lemon. It was fascinating to watch the two sides of this wine surge and recoil, but always in harmony with one another. The bouquet from this wine often flowed well beyond the confines of the glass, in a way one would expect of an amontillado or burly red, but, on the palate, it all is finesse and a smooth, long finish.

At some point after about 2-3 hours of air, there was a note on the nose of this that was exactly that of wood shavings in a lumber yard. It was one of those olfactory notes that was so distinctive and so memory-linked, that it conjured mental images of actual experiences around a circular saw. Inhaling I could almost feel those little wood dust particles in my nostrils. But in a good way, really. That lasted for maybe 30 minutes before something else took its place. The constant shifting was fantastic.

I really love this wine. Please don't buy it, I can't get enough. The bomb indeed.

November 1, 2014 - Even better now. Perfect balance together with that slightly ox style.
