January 6, 2023 - Clear deep red. Cassis, blackberry, liquor nose. Initially some spritz and cola. After an hour very smooth and balanced black cherry, slight bitter cherry, stoney finish. Very nice and perfect drinking window now. Ei "love it".

March 7, 2021 - Decanted three hours. Expressive nose, floral and earthy. Damp soil, wet stones, bright pomegranate and dried herbs. Caramelized black cherries against tart rhubarb on the palate. Wet earth, underbrush, mushrooms. Softened with age, smooth and weighty but the acidity remains, giving the wine lift. Quite good. Held up well on the second night too.

October 20, 2018 - Medium bodied and unexpectedly “punchy” for a Pinot. Paired well with our Italian dinner with notes of smoked cherries, strawberries and even a little white pepper on the finish. Received as a gift years ago but would definitely buy in the future.

November 25, 2017 - This was a magnum. Bottle opened 30 min before drinking. Dark red cherry color. Popcorn, raspberry, blueberry pie filling, charred corn husk, black cherry and loamy soil on the complex nose. Smooth, very integrated palate. Minimal tannins on medium short finish. This was wonderful, but just beyond it’s prime. Drink those ‘08 bottles ASAP.

September 19, 2017 - 3rd Tuesday of Month Blind Tasting Group - Pinot Noir from around the World; 9/19/2017-9/20/2017 (Village): Group rank 3 out of 12. Mine 6 out of 12.
I usually like Soter, and am not surprised by the showing. Tasted young. darker berries. plums. very nice acidity. keeps riper fruit in check. riper side of pinot. long finish. but in balance.
