December 23, 2012 - The Estrecho needs time in the 2007 vintage. Upon opening it is quite tight and not as elegant as usual - the trademark for this wine is normally that it has the power of the monastrell/mourvedre combined with a burgundian like elegance. This time it feels like there is more extraction than usual and it also appears a little hot. However, on day two it shows very elegant strawberry fruitiness. Will probably turn out very fine, but needs time and is not showing its best at the moment. Decant.
