December 18, 2023 - @ Crownshy NYC. This showed weaker and more diluted than the same bottle a year ago and was probably more representative of the 2011s. More fruity than earthy on the nose, became quite spicy over the course of 2 hours. Lacks some of the earthy backbone that defines CdlR in finer vintages. 2 more left to go and curious how this evolves, but doubtful it improves much from here.

February 1, 2023 - Opened and left to stand for ~2-hrs before serving. Attractive florals of violets, some spice & smoke. The palate was not exactly showing/showy though, somewhat firm, and reticent even... but the underlying quality (fruit concentration, texture) is evident. This will one day blossom, just like its '01 sibling did on this same evening...

December 2, 2022 - @ Noreetuh NYC. Haunting earthy nose that can only come from truly hallowed terroirs. Bright cherries on the palate, echoing finish. Soulful and a thinker’s wine.

December 5, 2021 - SLDS Decadence 2021: Redcurrant, graphite and mineral notes on the nose. Quite firm on the palate, but the red fruit does give it just enough generosity. The litheness probably reflects the vintage, though it didn't shine even among other (very high quality) 2011s in this flight.

May 15, 2021 - One of my best 2011. Just a tiny hint of edgy- and greenness, otherwise dark fruit and spices, full throttle concentration.
