Community Tasting Notes 8

December 26, 2021 - Light in color, but not in aromas. There is a dash of wood, evident use of Francois Freres barrels, displaying chocolatey pinot rich incense notes, followed by a silky mouthfeel, with decent depth and aetheral flavors of blue pinot, this is well balanced ending in a pleasantly and quite long finale. The oak from Francois Freres is an ingredient here -although integrated, I prefer less new oak and more neutral wood- but the terroir manages to shine through, this is classic charmes, and well made.

September 11, 2020 - Pale...almost rose. Delicious nose. Vibrant and energetic on the palate. Floral, with silky tannins but still delicate ....just how classic Chambolle should taste. Faiveley on the improve especially given the year.

November 17, 2019 - Burgundy Dinner with the Chevaliers du Tastevin (Wishing Well Restaurant, Wilton, NY.): [Opened at 4:15pm and served at 5:45pm.] Beautiful nose of cranberries and strawberries. Gorgeous, juicy red fruit and spice in the mouth. Drinking beautifully now. No rush, but no need to wait either.

February 17, 2017 - Quick notes - tough to get a read on this tonight as it probably is in a very grumpy stage. Comes as quite astringent and out of balance tonight. There is a lot of structure in place here, so I would put this away for 5+ years and hope it comes around.

November 15, 2015 - Cool and elegant red fruit but a bit quiet and anonymous on the approach. Later it blossoms up becoming more complex with aromas of ripe strawberry, juniper, white pepper, soil and well-integrated oak aromas. Palate is vibrant and charming and reflects the aromas of the nose. A loveley Pinot!
