February 27, 2016 - 24-Hour Tampa Blitzkrieg; 2/27/2016-2/28/2016: Wonderful nose of dried red cherry and cranberry, dry underbrush, barnyard, pastels, flowers, complex, amazing... Big energy in the palate. Fruit is fully mature but not fading at all. Spent coffee grounds. Dark but ripe and beautiful. A clean and pure look at Chambertin. Beautiful drinking.

August 11, 2014 - Similar to previous note, but some browning now. Nice nose of red and dark fruit, some floral notes, leather, and herbs. Nice structure with good fruit and minerality. Long sweet finish. Not a big wine, but elegant style. 94

May 7, 2014 - Burgundy dinner @ Serenade in Chatham: Very special wine - last one in a very big night. Nose was rich red fruits, leather, herbs de Provence, pepper. Aromatic and complex. Palate was dark cherry, strawberry, earth.

There was a sweetness to the mid palate and the finish that made it unique. Elegant style, tannins fully resolved. In a great spot

October 4, 2011 - Aromatically complex with a range of red and dark fruit with gamey-leather, floral, and herbal notes. Very elegant -- soft and silky on the palate with resolved tannins and good acidity. Not as complex on the palate, with mostly dark cherry fruit and some Gevrey animale. Long finish with beautiful minerality. Overall, a very feminine version of a Chambertin and since I am a Chambolle/Volnay lover, I thought this was outstanding. Your usual Gevrey aficionado may have found this to be a little on the light side. May gain a little more secondary complexity with some more time, but this is in a really good place right now.

(Drouhin Chambertin) Super funky nose of classic Burg. Fresh mint, sous-bois, dark cherries, animal, game, wet forest. Really aromatically compelling. Palate was not as good. Silky and ripe but a bit simple.
