June 10, 2021 - Popped and poured. Cork soaked through
Red fruit (cherry, black cherry, slight raspberry), spice, slight tobacco, slight earth, dusty old room, violet. Good acidity. Really enjoyable.

June 18, 2014 - If it weren't for the color, I wouldn't believe this is a 48 year old wine. What a lovely nose of cedar, wet forest and tobacco leaf. There's a leather note as well. On the palate it fools you for a wine half his age. I'd love to meet this wine's plastic surgeon. The fruit is still young, there's no indication of prunes, raisins or any cooked fruit. It's impeccable. What a wonderful bottle. I would score higher if the finish was a bit longer.

March 22, 2014 - Mimicking the reactions of previous tasters - the wine was light/med bodied, had some fruit left but short finish. The nose was elegant and seductive - still a lot of complexity. A nice, easy drinking aged Bordeaux but did quite have the body, power, or fruit to stand up to the lamb we had for dinner.

November 5, 2013 - Had a fantastic bottle to a beefstew. The level and colour was very good so I had great expectations for this bottle. Brickcoloured with a nose of cedar and autumnforest. A bit animaltone aswell. Medium to light body yet with lots of fruit left. A wonderfull elegant aged Bordeaux, when wine is at its best.

June 1, 2012 - Casual Friday night Wines session with Johnny & Gabriel (ES, Boon Keng): A shared bottle and understand this bottle was brought in directly from Chateau itself that's why everything in excellent condition: label, ullage and cork. Of course we are paying for the premium but I think that well worth it.
It has a subtle nose, showing plenty of black currant, some tobacco and hints of integrated oak. The palate is amazingly vibrant and it does not taste like a 46 years old wine. The fruits is holding well and lively, predominantly blackcurrant, with cigar box comes through at midpalate. It retains a nice medium+ bodied entry although it turns soft at the midpalate and finish with an unimpress aftertaste.
This is a very impressive bottle judging from the vintage and it comes from an always forgotten fifth growth producer. Starts to fall after one hour in the glass with fruits slowly dried up.
