February 22, 2023 - Premiere Napa Valley; 2/22/2023-3/25/2023 (Napa, California): This was really a special wine, and pouring next to the Hillside Select 2012 showed just how amazing the 2011 vintage is and will continue to improve in the coming years.

The Cerro Sur was 72% Cabernet Franc and 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, showed notes of cassis, developing dark fruit, fig, violets, pencil shavings, unsmoked tobacco and crushed stones. The palate was medium+ bodied with developing dark red fruit, mocha and crushed florals that showed both power and grace leading to a silky mid-palate of firm yet fine tannins, finishing long. A real success of the vintage and one of my highlights on this Californian trip!

December 29, 2020 - Not the favia blend we like

May 9, 2020 - Similar as two years ago, but only had one glass and the put the cork back in and we drank the rest eight days later. Still the same slightly strict and tannic finish but more evolved and smoother texture. Let it stay in the cellar a couple of years more would be my recommendation.

November 17, 2019 - Tannins have mellowed dramatically, but the 45 second finish more than makes up for that. Medium to dark fruits, low to medium acid and floral notes with light spices.

July 17, 2018 - Spicy nose which draws you in, soft mid palate, but the finish is long and strict with some bitter licorice tannins. We served this with some not so wine friendly food. Let’s see if a couple of years would do this a service. Not as big as more ripe years so maybe that’s why the structure shines through as much as it does. That said, a bottle disappeared quickly and everyone liked it. 91-93
