March 28, 2019 - Mature, rose petal nose, medium bodied, cherries and strawberry, tannins well integrated, very long and satisfying finish. Great bottle of wine.

December 8, 2018 - Fourteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Opened several hours earlier with a quick double decant. Started as nicely with mature red fruit, but this faded somewhat abruptly, seeming perhaps even heat damaged after 30 minutes in glass.

January 15, 2018 - Les Amoureuses and Empurau Dinner (Jade Palace): Nowhere near as seductive as the last bottle I had, but still quite enjoyable. The nose was very Groffier, rich notes of powdery spice, dried flowers and almost dried cherries and strawberries, with an earthy base underneath. The palate was rich yet clear, with darker cherries nicely lined by mineral, earth and spice, all this gently draped with a touch of dried flowers moving into an bittersweet herb finish. A bit lean and mean at first, but it warmed up and came together quite nicely with time. Very enjoyable indeed.

July 30, 2017 - Birthday Celebration (Chicago, IL): Lots of mature red fruit with good spice. Very good mineral notes from middle to finish. I like the combination of flavors and classically Chambolle textures, but expected slightly more freshness. Consistent with last time tasted one year ago. Best to enjoy now through 2020.

May 14, 2016 - Burgundy Dinner with Friends (Brindille - Chicago IL): Ripe red fruit with floral notes everywhere. Maturing nicely and elegantly. Very good mineral notes give this classic Chambolle character. I haven't had this wine in almost a decade, and like it a lot but would not consider it ideal for cellaring beyond 2020.
