July 7, 2018 - Very nice. Drinks perfect now. Complex, full bodied.

October 9, 2016 - A nose full of red and dark cherries and vanilla oak and a hint of turpentine. Quite open already. The palate mirrors the nose with a rather dominant cherry flavor and some red currants. The oak is well integrated. Medium acidity and smooth tannins give enough structure and the finish is fruity and medium (+). So a pleasant wine certainly but for me just a bit too much on the cherry side to be complex and interesting.

January 22, 2016 - Another NZ wine with the volume turned up to 11. This is regarding the aromas btw, the palate is fairly elegant even though it's a fair bit more extracted than your standard Burgundy Pinot. Lots and lots of spices on the nose together with raspberry and cherry fruit. There is a fair bit of oak as well, but it stays in the backseat. Good acidity and a bit of dryness on the palate. Lots of extraction. This is a wine of high quality but it lacks complexion and elegance on the nose. Will probably get better with 5-7 years on its back.
