November 9, 2023 - Drinkable, but uninteresting. Black cork and decent nose, but flat.

October 31, 2022 - Mainly black fruit tones coming through with some licorice. Body is somewhat light and flavours are not particularly large or complex. Easy to drink.

October 19, 2021 - Decanted for 2 hours.
The nose is not complex but pleasant with dark fruit and pencil shaving coming through. Unfortunately, it goes downhill from there: on the palate, the wine is a bit austere, with still gripping tannins and not a lot of depth. The finish is ok but the bitterness of the alcohol cannot be masked. Certainly an acceptable wine but for the price point, I expected more. -

October 26, 2020 - Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes Cain Concept 2010
Winery: Cain
Varietal: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Merlot 9% Cabernet Franc
1% Petit Verdot
Area/Appellation: Benchland Oakville/Rutherford/ Napa Valley
Vintage: 2010. Price: $55
Color: Opaque, dark purple from above, super dark ruby from below
Legs: slow to medium
Nose: subdued, blackberry, black cherry, slight hint of cedar, blue flowers,
Palate: black tea, blackberry, black spices, oolong, leather, oak
Night 2: a little more open more cassis than blackberries, a fair amount of oak,
Finish: drying and austere, more black fruits, dark tea spices, oak
Comments: 4 hour decant didn’t really help show it stuff.
Not a big fan of this wine. All i can say is they did not thin and sort enough and remove all the sunburnt fruit and shriveled fruit after the mid August heat wave. Day 2 it smoothed out a bit and showed slightly better, still very austere. Agree with other reviewers. Maybe move up to an 87.
Pairing Suggestions: BBQ pulled pork, sirloin, aged gouda and cheddars, hamburgers, braised lamb,
Score in terms of Vintage: 86
Score for the Wine: 86
Value for the Money: OK

November 24, 2018 - 4th Saturday Group (Sue's): Double blind. Dark color. Aromas of black fruit, dill and buttered popcorn. Red and black fruit on the palate with nice underlying acidity, but also quite austere.
