November 19, 2020 - In a good place now - slight touch of gloss to the fruit but otherwise pretty classic with a slight high toned blackcurrant, ferrous notes and a wild edge ***1/2

July 19, 2013 - Quite light for a Cornas, evolved perfumed nose and light bodied didn't take notes.

January 21, 2013 - Not as dark in the glass as many Cornas wines. The nose quite tight. Some depth with dark berries and spice. Discreet hint of the typical "Cornas-flesh/bacon" and minerality too. On the palate quite a bit of dryness with a delicate tannic mouthgrip. Overall nice Cornas, but not blowing me away. Filled the mouth well and did not overpower my unorthodox food pairing: Slowroasted chicken w/Serrano ham in cocotte with a dark, reduced glazed-like sauce.

February 11, 2011 - Very promising nose, with deep black fruits, syrah spice and minerals. A leanish mid-palate and finishing dry tannins. Quite astringent on the finish and a green note. However the core is fresh and fragrant and the whole package is really quite elegant. I wonder if the fruit will outlast the tannins but it drinks well with food so I may never find out.

July 5, 2010 - Terroir-istes International - France, Rhone, Cornas (Rodwell House): Deep red to pinky/orange rim.
Aromas of violet, ripe fruits, oak and cinnamon spice and more undergrowth notes of fungi, button mushroom, bandages and iodine. As it opens, a little molasses nuance signals some development.
A sweet entry with a surprisingly sharp acid, yet the wealth of fruit gives it flesh. Modern in style with ripe berries, even a little perfumed and a waft of vanilla. The tannins are gravelly giving some firmness to the texture but the wine lacks the density of concentration that I expect from Cornas. It did improve in glass.
