December 1, 2016 - Not decanted. A delicious young wine, remarkably accessible already. Expresive and complex nose of roses and minerals, tar and nuts, good depth of spices and fruit; unsurprisingly the palate is tannic, but not dauntingly so, balanced by a lovely sève, concentrated but pure and transparent, lovely balance and freshness; good resonance and length. A very stylish Barolo, which carries its 14.5% ABV with ease and which has a good future - 2030. In the bistro at Gut Lärchenhof, Pulheim, Germany.

October 25, 2015 - Retailer tasting (@ N in L): Ripe red and dark berry fruits in the bouquet. On the palate a beautiful wine with impressions of earth, cherries and some sweetness as well as some good rustic impressions. Also good acidity and sticky tannin. Really beautiful wine and still very youthful. Waiting until 2020+ will probably be rewarding. 91+

October 17, 2015 - Drinking young Barolo is not ordinarily my idea of a good time. But it remains tempting to get a peek at these 2010s because they're featuring such wild and interesting flavors that it's almost worth wading through all that tannin. This one is a pure rockhead's Barolo. The sensation of gravel is so intense it feels like it was made from bunches of fermented rocks. With time it segues to equally vivid metal shavings. The tannins are heavy and firm - you can practically feel those thick furry skins - and while I don't know if I'd call them especially refined, they're not rough or rustic, either, just dense and robust.
