January 31, 2024 - A little corked--too much so for drinking, but not too much that the bottled can't be used for cooking.
February 14, 2020 - Shows best after a couple decanter hours. Very much a cool climate Syrah. Red and black raspberries with chocolate and some meaty aspects. Not much in the way of olives or black pepper. High acidity and medium tannins. The former really elevating its mouth presence.
Still, this wine needs to soften more before it feels like it deserves its high scores. This is probably more like 90 now, but should elevate to 92 in 3-5 years.
June 26, 2018 - First night, this had a lovely blend of black fruit, melted licorice and coffee. The second night things had faded, but my fault for not reducing the air in the bottle.
June 24, 2018 - Still young. Loads of fresh Syrah fruit with modest tannins. We
January 20, 2018 - Drank over 2 nights. It was good the first night but even better the 2nd night. Rich red fruit flavor with raspberry showing the most. There is a little bit of spice and a nice finish. Solid effort. I’d definitely buy again.
October 17, 2017 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Dark core, cloudy, dull purple rim; bacon fat, violets, smoky, raspberry, darker in back, plum; plumper mouthfeel, big, a bit heavy, grainy, alcohol, heavy, a juicy undercurrent, acid and extract don't match making this awkward at this stage.
May 26, 2017 - Impressive. Smoky meat, ripe fruit, and light spices on the nose. Plump and glycerin-rich on the palate. Big tannins. Drinks well now but will be better with 3 more years of age.
January 8, 2017 - really opens day 3 , needs time, red tinged black fruit, the finesse is in how the powdery punchy structure is cloaked
October 22, 2016 - Nicely balanced, easy drinking for a N. Rhone.
September 23, 2016 - Loads of black fruit, wet stone, licorice and herb. Could use a year or two.
