May 31, 2015 - Still tasty bordeaux blend with earthy cherry, spice and pepper flavors. Medium bodied and smooth.

October 6, 2012 - - Garnet color. It's balanced with a medium body. Polished texture with a long finish - I'm happy we had this wine tonight. Assemblage has always been a favorite and this bottle is no exception. But, as the comment below states, this wine has lost some of it's fruit, but mine has probably held up a bit better than his did. It's still a classy lady, but, she's not getting any younger, even though she really got better with an hour's decanting. Assemblage usually defies the 10 year and out rule I use for American Cabernet based wines. The 1995 and 2000 vintages were a lot younger at 10+ years, but this baby ain't no slouch and still has some curves to her. I'm really happy to have known her. Nice long finish and complex in flavors. Still has that raspberry bouquet. The Massauds continue to produce some really great juice.

March 7, 2012 - Once again, I have some of these older vintage LI wines that need drinking and I'm glad I drank this one now.
In Appearance, the wine is clear with a medium garnet hue and medium, but persistent legs.
The Nose is clean and developed with medium intensity of aromas. Scents of cedar, char, forest floor, and sandalwood present themselves first. There is still some red fruit there, but it is fading--some raspberry, maybe a touch of blackberry.
The Palate is dry and medium in body with medium alcohol and tannins, but it still has some nice crisp, medium+ acidity. The flavor intensity is medium with more red fruit than was on the nose--again, raspberry, blackberry, and some red currant along with notes of sandalwood, smoke, and a touch of herbaceous spice, like eucalyptus.
Overall, this is a good wine that has held up well, but drink it now, as the fruit is past peak. A very solid, drinkable wine. -

December 9, 2007 - Had this in February at Bob Fyke's non-Bordeaux Bordeaux dinner (see notes from Keith and Mikhail below). Bought it to show someone that LI is making much better wines than they used to. Showed well, good wine, but still not great for the price.

February 23, 2007 - BDX blends offline (blind) (Fairway): i always liked this wine, and it still pushed the same buttons for me. currants, good aromatics, light food friendly wine with a good minerality and backbone. the guesses were an older ('70s) cali.
