October 9, 2016 - Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): Dense, red currant with slight chocolate…juicy, red fruit focussed, fine tannins.

August 29, 2016 - Drank over a couple of nights and it didn't shift much. Lighter savoury style with subtle cherry and strawberry flavours with a light dusting of pepper.

March 5, 2016 - Australian wine critics trashed this wine on release. Two years later Decanter awards it Australian Pinot of the year. From a difficult vintage this wine is quite remarkable. On the nose it shows dried strawberries, raspberries and cherries. Mushrooms, dried herbs and cooked meats. The palate is well balanced with gripping tannins. Remarkable weight and mouth feel. Complex and thought provoking. Well balanced though likely not for the long term cellaring. Drink now to 2020.

October 7, 2015 - From a vineyard planted in 1991 and where no herbicides have been used for the past 8 years. Aged for 22 months in old French oak barrels. 12,7% alcohol, 6,1 g/l acidity.

Pale, very translucent and almost limpid raspberry red color. Very vibrant, savory and lively nose with aromas of raspberries, floral violet tones, a little bit of sweet red cherries, a hint of fragrant Pinosity of exotic spices and a whiff of something wild and pleasantly aromatic. The wine is light-bodied, fresh and playful on the palate with bright flavors of raspberries, redcurrants, some sour cherry bitterness, a little bit of ripe wild strawberries and a hint of fresh red apples. With its high acidity the wine is definitely not wanting for structure, but overall the wine feels very fine and delicate - almost thin - with no sense of tannins to add gravitas. The finish is light, fresh and lively with vibrant flavors of redcurrants, almost unripe strawberries, hints of tart red forest fruits and a touch of peppery Pinosity.

A very fresh, light-bodied and poised little Pinot Noir that doesn't come across as big or impressive, yet still manages to be very lovely, tasty and compelling. Benefits from being served rather cool. Overall very pure and highly drinkable with great emphasis on delicate, unadulterated Pinosity. Recommended.

March 13, 2015 - Pale ruby red. On the nose; Dried herbs-very savoury and complex. Some slight burnt/charred notes, slight caramel.

On the palate; not as big and full bodied as most CF wines, but makes up for that in complexity. I love the subtlety and the amount of flavour that's packed in. As with all CF Pinot's it has very good balance and length.
