Community Tasting Notes 12

March 8, 2022 - Some cherry fruit but predominantly notes of boot polish (VA?) and more astringent than tannic. There’s cream and nuts on the finish, but it’s quite soft and to my mind has seen better days. A little past it. CHP 82 pts

December 9, 2020 - Tasted from double magnum. In excellent condition and maturity, now in its peak of its drinking window and will stay there for many years as it develops more tertiary notes into complexity. Silky and soft with fully rounded tannins, hints of tobacco and leather accompanying dried fig and red plum. Long and mouth watering finish creating an immediate desire for another sip.

September 5, 2018 - Rioja BYOB night with Dan.
higher acidity in this wine compared to tondonia and ardanza.
notes of violets, red fruit and leather.
needs food or more time to properly enjoy

November 20, 2016 - A modern Rioja with a very fruity nose full of red and dark, ripe berrys, and a touch of chocolate. Mediumbodied plus on the palate with lots of fruit (strawberry, black currant and dark cherry), some vanilla and a a good fresh, lingering and refreshing acidity. 90+, excellent! No hurry to drink this, it will last several years yet.

September 17, 2016 - Very vegetal on the nose and palate. Notes of green pepper, onion, garlic, mixed with tons of astringency and acidity, lots of tannin, and light notes of yeast and bread. Purple.
