April 5, 2019 - #tcastudy (should have been old Prum night): Well, this was incredible and thankfully a pristine bottle. Such an incredible array of flavours here - fruit ranging from tarter citrus to more flamboyant and ripe tropical flavours, lightly honeyed notes, a tart green herbal accent (not unlike some of the aromatics in a green Chartreuse), and a faint smokiness that plays a secondary role to the fruit flavours which are still incredibly fresh and vibrant. It's hard to believe this is nearly half a century old, but each sip of this feels amazingly bright and lively and the finish is nearly endless. Spectacular.

April 5, 2019 - TCA (Prüm) study (Chicago, IL): #15-74, 10% abv. In a night of so many corked wines, I am immensely grateful that this wasn't one of them. It's as stunning as I remember it being -- primordially fresh, with so many tangy tropical fruits, and with such brilliant complexity. There's almost no secondary characteristics on this wine. It's like one of the Bern's wines where it's been held in suspended animation instead. The fruit really does come across as primary rather than secondary, and air helps expose this note of grapefruit that I really, really love. Absolutely splendid stuff.

July 28, 2018 - Corked. As Joe Girardi might say, It's Not What You Want.

January 27, 2018 - Simply amazing. Soaring nose of spice, apple, with the shape of a golden cone like sunlight through a spot in the clouds. Vanilla shake. The palate doesn't have huge acid, but perfect balance - cinnamon, apple, spice, vanilla - ethereal beyond belief. Great fruit and the light finish is spicy and apples. Stupendous. No detailed scores but at the 19/20 easily.
