August 23, 2022 - Biodynamic, from the Marne, oxidative, 3g/L dosage. All 2013.
Medium plus nose shows toasty notes, brioche, sourdough, dried citrus, apricot pith, mushroom. Palate matches with rich style, toasted, nutty, dried almond, stemmy, deep citrus, stone fruit, very dry finish, phenolics strong.1 person found this helpful Comment -

January 4, 2021 - This bottle was included in a "Lobenbergs Wein-Abo" subscription. A blend of 75% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 5% Chardonnay. 2013 base vintage. Four years on the lees, disgorged in July 2018. Medium pale golden colour, with light, medium intense and medium-fine perlage. Apple, citrus, white flowers, nuts, biscuit and a hint of caramel, with medium-fine, slightly aggressive mousse, lively acidity and good length. The finish is quite nice; chalky, apple-sour, mildly bitter and dry. Good body. Drink now and over the next two or three years. (89+)

May 20, 2019 - Appearance: Clear, medium straw to light gold color, fine mousse.
Aroma: Clean. Med (+) intensity aromas of lemon curd. Yeasty autolytic character. Appropriate.
Palate: Dry (brut - some dosage is detectable I think), med (+) acidity, med (-) alcohol, med body, med (+) intensity of ripe lemon fruit and zest, lots of autolytic biscuit. Mouthfeel is creamy, chalky. Med (+) length of finish on the palate. Bubbles fade away very quickly in the glass.
Conclusion: Quality is very good to outstanding/exceptional; this is grower champagne at its finest. The wine is not likely developing further, and the bubbles are starting to fade (possibly due to storage issue downstream?). Wine will likely hold for some years to come, but is now fully developed. Drink now.1 person found this helpful Comments (1) -

June 5, 2016 - A lot of roasted aromas, nuts, "burned" toast, butter, fine acidity and very long aftertaste, a nice one as the whole range of Bedel
