October 30, 2020 - Vertical tasting of 2012, 2013 and 2014. Surprisingly even quality, with the '12 a tiny bit ahead of the two others overall. Hard to tell if it was a better vintage or just more bottle age. All three vintages have beautiful perfume, opens up nicely in the glass with floral notes, red berries and hint of spice and white pepper on the nose. Complex on the palate and good length. Layers starting to form, hints of cherries, especially in the '12 and the '14. The '13 feels denser and holds a bit more weight plus a touch of licorice. All three very juicy wines with fine tannins. Fresh and balanced wines with clear potential for further development in the cellar. Can probably take 10 years or more. No presence of excessive oak. Delicious Volnay from a well-maintained and very consistent performing monopole.

October 24, 2019 - Nice and well-made Volnay. Lovely fruit and floral nose. A bit on the "light" side and very accessible. Curious how this one will develop. Missing a bit of tannins.

February 8, 2017 - Wasserman Burgundy Dinner (Smyth - Chicago IL): Floral and spice start with red cherry and berry aromas. Moderate weight and length, but overall good balance and textures. I'd think this will pick up more weight over the next year or two, and best for the mid-term, 2018-2028.

March 5, 2016 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Very pretty red and black berry aromas and flavors. Nicely balanced, slightly floral, moderate weight. Will drink nicely young, but give it a year or three.
