September 26, 2023 - Dinner with Claudia Sottimano (Chicago, IL): From the oldest parcels of Cotta and Pajore. This has developed splendidly since I last tasted this, but I think there is still further upside in the future. This is amped up with tons of complexity and lots of classic nebbiolo character. It needs the time to soften, but the quality of the raw materials here is obvious. I'll also note that the modernist touch I found in my note a few years ago I can't find anymore. Go figure.

March 30, 2023 - Un carillon, from blood to Vicks vaporub.
Pale garnet. Pronounced. Dried roses, violets. Blood. Dried cherriy, strawberry, figs, pepper, mint. Nutmeg,cinammon. cedar, Vanilla, leather, fresh liquorice.Touch of VA, like all great wines. Complex. Med+ acodity. High, wonderful fine & powdery tannins. 25% abv. Long and powder, spicy finish. Outstanding. -

January 12, 2022 - An exceptional 2010 and I can't believe how well this is drinking already. Red cherry and plum fruit is plush and the well-integrated tannins are silky. A medley of floras, earth and spice throughout. Dazzling on the palate. Young, but very impressive and enjoyable already.
