  June 1, 2018 - Very tricky. Initial red and black fruity mouthful - a vinous equivalent of a red berry smoothie with some earthy undertones- but with air becomes more complex, almost lighter and spicy. Powerful astringent acidity. But to me, these features currently seem all out of balance here. Almost certainly too young; only one bottle so I shall never know!

  April 27, 2016 - The Superb Barthod and Boillot Wines: From bottle, the '13 had a lighter, bright colour. Also a noticeably cooler aspect on bouquet. Expressive with red berries, soil and a nice lift. Also refreshing on palate with sparkling '13 acids and crunchy red fruit. Raspberries, red cherries and dry earth. Lighter bodied but fully ripe. Very focused and linear. Another very good Villages wine that will need a few years to be at its best.
