February 9, 2023 - So dark, Bordeaux looking in colour. Not close to being ready even after a 2 hour decant. Shockingly young and tannic. Hard to process that a 25 year old burg can be embryonic and taste more like a 2014. Hard to rate but for sheer power it is off the charts! Is there too much tannin and structure for the fruit? Possibly, like a 1986 Bordeaux? Perhaps I will be judged wrong in 2048 when it might just about be approachable…

December 17, 2021 - A massive black hole of a Richebourg, this isn't even close to ready after over two decades in bottle, and even after hours in the glass. Incredible density, deepest darkest color one might ever see in Burgundy, this is clearly a 50 year wine.

January 18, 2020 - PoB - Grivot Richebourg vertical dinner (1992-2013) (Hong Kong): A dense wine as well, felt closed with some Maggi beef stock but not oxidative, on the rustic side. Phenolic ripeness not top here either. This and the 1996 were the only wines that did not fully convince in this magical tasting.

January 9, 2020 - Drunk at Arbor Restaurant Hong Kong - Ex Domaine Grivot Richebourg vertical - A pleasant farmyard nose, soft tannins and the acid is under control. Whilst there is more viscosity in this wine than the earlier vintages we tasted which may suggest more time is needed, I'm not convinced this is going anywhere special. Good but not great.

October 17, 2019 - Quite clearly disappointing: very little fruit left, fine, but still firm tannins, quite short. I served this blind to guests; they guessed correctly the vintage, but thought that this couldn’t be a premier cru, because of the short length and lack of fruit. 1998 was not a stellar vintage, but even this considered, it was underwhelming.
