December 8, 2018 - Wonderfully smooth. The tannins have smoothed as it is a 2004 and it is dry on the front palate. Long legs... really nice, though!

November 1, 2018 - Great fruit and acidity still. The tanins have largely subsided, though are still noticable. Just amazing. Did not decant. After about 60-90 minutes, it started to come apart structurally, but still quite enjoyable. Same the next night.

May 12, 2017 - Clear, deep black-garnet color. Plenty of sediment on the cork and in the bottle. Gorgeous Syrah nose of cassie & plum fruit with sanguine layers of secondary iron & marinating beef, along with tea leaf, fresh lavender and smoked paprika. Pure and young layers of black fruit on the palate, stacked with dense and seamless layers of secondary depth, consistent with the nose with no one element standing out above the others. Very concentrated and rich, with underlying minerality giving lift and balance- dense without heaviness. Medium acid, with smooth and round medium tannins. Full and rich succulent finish. Outstanding, drinking well, still young.

May 5, 2017 - Terre Rouge/Easton Tasting Room: Aromas of cassis, leather, plum & blackberry fruit, iron and lavender. Open-knit fruit on the palate with complex depth of mineral & earth, spices and florals. Richly textured, medium acidity, fine tannin and full complexity on the finish. Showing very well.
