August 29, 2022 - - Ruby color with slow forming legs and aromas of dusty, rose and cherry. It's balanced and has flavours of cherry and smokey with a medium body. Round texture with a long finish - Spice box nose, sweet Smokey finish.

August 28, 2022 - I just picked up a bunch of older RC at firesale prices, so wanted to check in on one of my "middle-aged" bottles to see whether I threw away my money. Well this particular bottle was singing, and very much in the nervy, energetic and elegant style of pinot that I enjoy. One might even say "Burgundian" if one were out to pick a fight. Bright cherry, cranberry and spice/sandalwood notes, the latter seeming to be the residue of what might have been a bit too much oak in its infancy. Medium bodied, with some dusty undertones to go with the core of red raspberry and sour cherry fruit. While I haven't followed RC back to the beginning, from what I've read, winemaker/owner Eric Sussman had begun to dial back the ripeness by this point, and earlier vintages may be stylistically quite different (a bit more oak, ripeness and alcohol, as was in vogue at that time). That said, while I may yet be disappointed with RC wines from the mid-oughts, this bottle was really enjoyable. I think it should continue to hold and evolve for another 5-10 years.

August 26, 2022 - Not to my taste. Mostly barnyard. Almost no fruit. Maybe over the hill?

June 4, 2022 - Shane & Caroline's Engagement Lunch (The Conservatory, Crown Wine Cellars, 18 Deep Water Bay Drive, Shouson Hill, Hong Kong): Several bottles served to the group of 24 of us. Very light almost transparent jewelled ruby colour. Nose is lifted but overly candied cherries and funfair cotton candy. Palate is painfully sweet and undrinkable.

October 27, 2021 - Not corked, but something happened to this bottle. Cork showed seepage a quarter of way up cork. I opened a 2013 RC Alberigi right after pouring this out, and it had similar off flavors too. Cork was fine on that one. Neither were really drinkable. I now have concerns about my remaining bottles of 2013 RC pinot noir.
