December 15, 2023 - I've generally liked this wine, but this bottle was a bit meh.

December 2, 2023 - Throwing off lots of blackcurrant on the nose on opening really confused me.
Palate was clean but very extracted and dominated by oak for me. Revisited multiple times over a couple of hours and never got going. I really wanted to enjoy this bottle as it should have been special. But alas, it never became pretty or elegant. Just an extracted beast for my palate.

October 16, 2023 - Felt that this bottle might be bottle variation. Medium nose intensity with notes of green bell pepper, earth, spices, toast. Medium acidity and medium tannin. Expect better performance for this price point.

December 7, 2019 - White Truffle Dinner: 02 Musigny flight. So much to love in the nose here -- intense, concentrated perfume with gorgeous red fruit and florals. Rich and decadent on the palate, yet light on its feet. Wow. A great wine and the runt of the flight!

December 7, 2019 - Fifteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Lake Bluff, IL): In Musigny 2002 flight. Dense fruit throughout with faint earth and mushroom hints. Lots of power on finish, still good complexity. These were served single blind, and fairly easy to identify. It's a rare flight where this is the laggard!
