One of the more ready and accessible bottles of Salon that I've come across. Still electric with plenty of tension, but the fruit is ample and broad. In a peak window.

Rich and toasty -- in a great spot right now. Excellent but not quite as good as 02 Dom and no where close to 02 Krug in the same flight.

Towering aromatics. Classic, toasty and rich Dom. Energetic with crisp acidity supporting the fruit. Wonderful now.

Krug is simply killer in this vintage. So much orchard fruit and toast. Powerful yet so bright and lively. A wow wine.

83/86/01. A haunting nose that is so intense with a complex mix of sweet white fruit and savory elements. The palate is similarly stunning -- fully mature fruit that is layered with smoke and toasted herbs. Wow, so complex. Possibly the best Riesling that I've ever had.

83/86/01. This was a step down from the gorgeous 1983 served in the same flight. Complex nose has moderate intensity -- mature fruit with smoke notes. Palate is still lively with good acidic punch.

83/86/01. An odd showing here. Darker than both the 83 and 86 and just not nearly as interesting. Maybe shut down?

Mixed in with an 83/86/01 Clos St Hune flight. The nose has mature tropical fruits with spice, smoke, and savory notes. Demi-sec weight and sweetness. Rich apple and pear with spice.

Epic nose is so towering and powerful with rich orchard fruit, white flowers, musk and spice. The palate is so rich and dense yet lively and graceful. Ethereal, long finish. Best of the flight.

Wow, this is so rich and so dense it's hard to describe. Powerful with great ripe fruit, mineral and toast. A bit burly still. Will be even better with time. Upside from here.

This bottle seemed advanced and not close to the two bottles I was able to taste last year. The orchard fruit and mineral streak is there but its showing honeyed and soft.

I really like the layering and complexity here. Plenty of mineral and spice accents to the rich chewy orchard fruit. No noticeable reduction, which I usually find in PYCM.

94/04/07. Showing its age with honeyed apple notes in the aroma and palate. Has good Chablis minerality as well. Still has good fruit and energy, though no sense in holding longer.

94/04/07. Classic aromas of green apple and ocean breeze. So rich and broad on the palate. Crisp, mouth-watering acidity. In a peak spot now.

94/04/07. My favorite of the vertical. The aromas here are powerful and classic, with an extra gear of intensity and complexity. Delicious, round and rich fruit. Spice and mineral fill the long finish.

Mixed into a 94/04/07 Dauvissat Clos flight. This took a few minutes to open up aromatically -- shows plenty of waxy apple and mineral. The palate shows good complexity with youthful fruit and mature earth and honey elements. Tasty and long.

Tired.

Wow, this is so youthful. Huge nose of rich, bright white fruit and minerals. Palate is rich and expansive with age-defying freshness and acidity. Delicious and long.

Just a touch less compelling than the outstanding 1999 Batard served side by side. White fruit is rich but showing mature with some bruised apple notes. Good freshness and length.

A wow nose that is full and intense with rich white fruit and mint. The palate is so rich, dense and creamy. Electric acidity. Wow. At peak and no signs of fading.

Corked.

A stunner. Amazing perfumed nose that has Asian five spice for days along with a complex medley of dried black cherry, game, and stem notes. Delicious on the palate with so much life and intense spice. Long finish. Epic.

Still has some nice ripe black cherry on the nose and palate. Some spice accents as well. Interesting but showing its age.

In a terrific place and very true to Clos de Beze. Grand cru concentration with mature meaty fruit that is laced with earth and mushroom. Structure is still there. This will hold just fine for a decade.

Served blind. Clearly mature but this has so much exotic spice and tea. Speaks very much to Vosne. A very good showing.

02 Musigny flight. Oh my, the aromatics here are otherworldly in their intense perfume and layering. Red fruit at its purest. In a peak window and will certainly hold for decades but this is a joy right now.

02 Musigny flight. So much to love in the nose here -- intense, concentrated perfume with gorgeous red fruit and florals. Rich and decadent on the palate, yet light on its feet. Wow. A great wine and the runt of the flight!

02 Musigny flight. Most brooding aromatic profile of the flight -- non-delineated black cherry and brown sugar -- delicious even if not the most nuanced. The palate is similarly downright delicious with rich, concentrated black cherry and spice. Silky as can be. Wow. Upside from here.

Single blind 93/95/98 vertical. My favorite of the trio. The nose here is super exotic with a medley of asian spices, tea and brown sugar that are all so well integrated with the black cherry. This is so generous and giving on the palate. Delicious with pristine weight and balance. Superb.

This is fairly backward and stern right now. Plenty of strawberry and red cherry on the palate with notions of spice bursting through. Just not yet integrated or nuanced.

Single blind 93/95/98 vertical. My second favorite in the flight and one of the better 95 burgs that I've come across. A hedonistic, sexy nose with black cherry, asian spice, tea and brown sugar. Plush and forward ripe fruit on the palate. Good depth. Excellent now.

86/89/96 vertical. Huge nose of savory red cherry that is layered and dense. Palate is so concentrated yet refined and precise. Great one.

86/89/96. Showing mature with lots of balsamico and red cherry. Layered and decadent. I think more air would have let this shine at another level.

Not a sound bottle. Oxidized, dirty and tired.

Late night bonus bottle. So much intense Vosne spice in a round and polished package. Good creamy richness.
