Community Tasting Notes 10

September 22, 2023 - Early birthday celebration: Very different from my previous experience. A couple of us immediately said this was a Duroche 1er because of the dark cherry and slight cola notes. Fruit was much more vibrant but wasn’t as elegant and light as the previous occasion that I had this.

November 22, 2022 - A really well made Chambolle-Musigny from a legendary vineyard in a troublesome vintage. Leather and mushroom aromas add complexity to a fruitdrivwn wine with notes of strawberry, red cherry, blackberry and sage. Perfectly mature and drinkable. Long.

May 10, 2022 - Chambolle 1er dinner: More lightly extracted than the other two wines from this flight with more oak on the nose, so I guessed this to be a maker that was transitioning to a newer style but apparently this was before the style change at this domaine. Rather primary still with plenty of red cherry fruit, the concentration of Amoureuses was very much present, just in a less obvious fashion than the Groffier. Most Chambolle of Chambolles tonight. My second of the night.

December 26, 2021 - Just great. Transparent with enormous depth and fully expressing the terroir of Ammoureusses….chalk, Forrest berries and clinical acidity..
