June 3, 2022 - Bernie's Birthday Bash (Jason's House): PnP - This was singing right out of the gate! Hedonistic fruit with velvety tannins...delicious!

Nose: Lots of florals and red fruit! Hints of bramble and cigar.

Palate: Gobs of red and black fruit, black raspberry pie, with hints of smoked meat, blood and iodine lurking. No heat, velvety tannins and enough acidity to keep the fruit lively. This is mouth-coating wine that finishes medium long leaving behind sweet fruit with well integrated toasty oak and hints of meat and spice.

Always a pleasure! Drinking quite well now! 94+ to 95 points....I am discovering I really love the taste and value of a nice Grenache!

October 8, 2021 - Pizza Night!: PnP - Still loving this Grenache! Color is dark cranberry red to purple. Nose is filled with big, jammy dark fruit and enough some secondary goodness, including roasted meat, blood, and some lavender and spice notes, as well as some sweet toasted oak on a long, graceful, finish......an excellent wine! I think the silkiness of new world Grenache fits squarely in my wheelhouse! 94+ tonight (possibly could have gotten to 95 with more time, but the bottle was gobbled up pretty quickly!)

September 11, 2021 - Precious Time with My Niece!; 9/10/2021-9/12/2021: PnP - I am turning more and more into a Grenache fan! I love this wine...it has velvety mouth feel, full of big, rich fruit and earth and smoked meat, with some herbs, spice and hints of toasted oak. It is a "feel good" wine....i.e., you can't help but feel good while drinking it! I found myself constantly going back to the bottle for more....a wine I could sit back and enjoy. 95 again tonight!

July 18, 2021 - Delphine returns to the USA (at least for a little while): I opened this wine because a friend is visiting from France and she asked me to open a Grenache and a Syrah. I chose this wine because I have several bottles and I haven't tried it yet. This was a very pleasant surprise, but likely another polarizing wine. It's Australia, so you would expect it to a big wine with plenty of fruit, and it was! The group was pretty happy with the wine, so I will say this is certainly a crowd pleaser, especially for those who do not drink a lot of wine. Plenty of fruit that hides the alcohol! I thoroughly enjoyed this wine!

3 hour decant. On the nose, still a hint of alcohol, but it blew away after a couple minutes of swirling in the glass, giving way to a nice perfumed nose of violets, lavender and red fruit. The palate showed a great mouthfeel with velvety tannins, big, jammy fruit (mostly red current and blackberry, with some plum), it also showed secondary flavors of leather and mushroom with a hint of chocolate. The wine was really showing vibrant fruit and silky tannins, which I liked....ALOT! 94+ to 95 points
