October 10, 2020 - Pale amber, watery rim

Intense with medium complexity. Aromas of honey, peach, ripe apples, stonefruit. Limecrest, slate

Palate is offdry with medium acidity, the wine has good length, medium body, medium alcohol. Very well balanced. Has a little bitterness sting in the finnish. Aromas of apples and honey with some minerality.

Very well balanced, intense with good length, solid concentration and medium complexity.

The wine is of very good/outstanding quality. 91p

July 28, 2017 - A family Riesling tasting (@Private location): Glass: Spiegelau White wine
This bottle was bought a few weeks ago at a well-known wine trader in Munich. During transport the cork popped out of the bottle about a half of its size (presumably because of the summer heat) and destroyed the capsule. No leakage though.
Decanted for about 1h. Tasted side-by-side with the 2005 Himmelreich and it was quite the opposite of it:
Clear, medium golden-amber color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose with lots of acacia, honey, herbs, peach and other ripe fruit and some slight hints of petrol.
Color and nose already promised the vintage typical ripeness and botrytis and it continued on the palate: Much richer than the Himmelreich, a bit broader, because the acidity was not as racy and the fruit much more driven by ripeness and honey. It felt thicker, more oily and creamy.
On the palate an orgy of peach! Very intense, maybe a bit too much, because sometimes it reminded me of cheap peach ice tea… The fruit was balanced by a nice minerality, some herbs and notes of honey. Never too fat or broad. Louder and more expressive than the Himmelreich, therefore for most people on the table the WOTN. Has years ahead, but I would say it is close to its peak. The bad transportation fortunately had not damaged the wine, as it performed as expected. Very nice. 92-93

April 21, 2015 - Tasted at the winery. Green capsule is Molitor's designation for feinherb wines (a touch more sweet than off-dry). Like the rest of their late harvest wines, this one is quite light in body and color for an off-dry auslese. Notes of honey and petrol. There is a touch of harshness or slightly off note towards the end of the palate.
