September 27, 2019 - Kuki'o Wine Trip 2019; 9/22/2019-9/28/2019 (Champagne & Bordeaux): [Magnum] At the Chateau and a little hard to get excited about these in the presence of the reds. More or less indistinguishable from the Haut-Brion Blanc with a lot of grass and stone. Fresh and super clean. Stonefruit?

January 18, 2018 - WineBid Tasting Event (Mandarin Oriental): First time with this wine on the heels of the Ygrec from D'Yquem. Not sure I was quite as entranced with this. Honeydew and peonies and a thicker mouthful which I wasn't quite sure about.

January 18, 2018 - Had at a spectacular WINEBID.com tasting event. Total of 39 wines tasted with an unbelievable lineup ! Bravo to Sterling Roig.

Hard to believe that this wine was an underachiever. At over $1k per bottle this had better perform..... but tonight it simply it did not but was also was not given the right introduction.

I found some enormously restrained fruits. Almost buried in the viscosity of the juice on the palette but evident on the nose. This could easily be one of the great wines but may need 10+ years.

January 18, 2018 - A WineBid tasting you won't forget - NYC (Mandarin Oriental Hotel, NYC): I guess I am a hard grader - or maybe I just think this wine needs lots of time in the bottle. The nose was more reticent than the Ygrec that preceded it, with notes of lime, pear and a little flower. Better taste of lovely pineapple, apple, some tropical fruit and honey and spice on the finish. It was decanted for over 2 hours beforehand -- and probably needed a 24-hour decant, IMHO.

Sterling described this wine as “an angry toddler”; Neal Martin said the wine was “feral”. I imagine I would like it better with 10 years of bottle age. To me it was outshown by the Ygrec before it. Expensive for $600-700.

April 24, 2015 - This wine begins with lemon, lime, a few stems of Easter lily and some wet, weathered limestone and that’s just the warm up. It’s the refreshing acidity and the finish of complex, green apple that really sets this wine apart And just when it seems too good to go on for much longer there is a citrus jolt of concentrated fruit and freshness, which really allows it all to percolate and fall into place. The wine was made from a blend of 84% Semillon and 16% Sauvignon Blanc, reaching 14.75% alcohol with a pH of 3.13. 95 Pts
