March 9, 2024 - Hawker Food Night: blind, burnt earth, soy sauce, leather, med acid some bitter at the end.

March 9, 2024 - Hawker night at Caroline's: Think Guigal went over to the dark side by this period, and the quality of fruit in this cuvee wasn't what it was already. Overripe fruit with an obvious oak signature, rather generic and soulless.

January 15, 2023 - I had this wine over a decade ago with my wine tasting group, and it beat out all the "La La"s for first place in a tasting of eight '97 Northern Rhone Syrah based wines. How would the '97 "LaLa's do today? Tannins have melted away and oak has fully integrated. The wine is at peak. Unlikely to improve, but likely to remain on it's plane of maturity for several years. No overt Syrah character.

May 17, 2018 - Fully mature. Deep, complex, Rich Fully on secondaries. Probably just on the verge of declining but in a great place now. Possible a bit unbalanced, lacks a bit of acidity; quite ripe on the edge of flabby. Did not decant and perfect cork; the wine advanced fairly quickly over one hour.
