January 22, 2017 - Aroma of lemon, lime, apricot and white pepper. The fruits repeat in the taste and are accentuated with a white almond flavour. This wine has a medium weight and is packed with lip-smacking acidity. An absolutely lovely Albariño to drink with seafood in cream sauce or salad greens with tart vinaigrette. Score 88. December 30, 2016 - My second bottle of this fantastic Torres Albariño from Rías Baixas in Galicia, and to quote part of my review when I had the first in October 2016: "Pure and clean, it offers tangy apple and lemon followed by nectarine, grapefruit, white chocolate, and butterscotch, a broad range of citrus mixed with rich, luscious elements, and then a wave of salty minerality and nuts as it turns more savoury, without ever losing the sharp acidity that streaks through from start to finish." I didn't get quite as much of the luscious, balancing chocolate-butterscotch this time, but this is a truly great and distinctive wine.

October 8, 2016 - It's like a broken record to say so, but Torres, if I may generalize, makes great wine representative of Spain's various regions, wines that capture regional essence even if they mostly remain too broad for micro-terroir identification (which isn't a criticism, because that's not the intention of most of the range). And the Pazo das Bruxas (witches' houses, because the witches of Galician folklore would commune with nature in order to secure great fruit) is the Torres family's foray into, and expression of, the Rías Baixas region in Galicia in northwestern Spain, along the Atlantic coast, using the local Albariño grape. And it's a truly great wine, a stand-out of the Torres range, more distinctive than anything from, say, Rioja or Ribero del Duero. Pure and clean, it offers tangy apple and lemon followed by nectarine, grapefruit, white chocolate, and butterscotch, a broad range of citrus mixed with rich, luscious elements (particularly as it warms up), and then a wave of salty minerality (so distinctive) and nuts as it turns more savoury, without ever losing the sharp acidity that streaks through from start to finish. It pairs well with food (seafood, in particular) but is complex and profound enough to stand on its own. Truly delicious, witchcraft or no, and another Torres success.

January 25, 2016 - Enofusión 2016; 1/25/2016-1/27/2016 (IFEMA - Madrid): On the nose has a lactic but with saccharin ( sweetness ) and a herbs point . The palate is astringent and hard, almost indigestible .

En nariz tiene un punto láctico pero con sacarina (dulzor) y hierbas. En boca se muestra astringente y muy duro, casi indigestible.
