March 5, 2019 - Definitely peaking. Has moved into tertiary mode - nose reminded us of a Zinfandel dessert wine we recently sampled. Stewed and dried dark red fruits. Still some tannic structure and tangible acidity. Good length and some complexity. Drink up.

December 31, 2017 - This is a medium dark purple colored wine with medium clarity. Complex nose of cherry, cedar and pine and a hint of cocoa. Smooth and dry with nice tannin. Cherry flavor with some floral notes.

October 30, 2017 - A neighbor brought this over because he thought it was a nice value. Dark purple fruit - blackberry, blueberry, dark currants, and dark cherry. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth for the price point. Fairly fruit forward and rich which is no surprise in light of the blend. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. An enjoyable wine for the money but we drank it next to a 2014 Myriad Beckstoffer Georges cab and the Myriad was quit a bit better in every aspect - although also quite a bit more expensive. I believe the Chappellet might of shown a little better by itself. 43% merlot, 34% cab, 11% petit verdot, 7% malbec, and 5% cab franc.
