January 22, 2023 - Clos de la Marechale Vertical (Decatur, GA): Pale brown red; soy, aged, iron, good texture, still rich, tea, still some red fruit left; fascinating, fully resolved.

May 4, 2021 - Still quite shy, missing the sweet tannin of the vintage at this age. Woody, stemmy, medium-bodied fruit, dried rose petals. Still quite dark and quite NSG in profile. 93

May 11, 2019 - Some funk/floral on the nose. Sweet fruit with a long finish. Not bad but didn’t love.

February 3, 2019 - This bottle was certainly my top favourite wine so far this year. I typically dont rate the wine in points but i have to do it for this bottle, it was just so good. Thank you BurgNick!!!
On the nose, initially showed, iron, truffle, dark cherries, purple plums, spices and minerals, i was really amazed how alive the fruits was showing, after opening 1 hour, the nose was even more floral and on the palate the wine showed underlying sweet yet chewy tannin, modest spices, minerals, and great structure. I think this wine was a classic aged burgundy wine, it was a live example of how great they can be after giving 40 years of time! What a beauty.
Old Faiveley wines sometime are really amazing. Clos de la Marechale is the biggest monopole in Burgundy, now is under JF Mugnier.
