2013 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle

Small glass, brief note. Bright red fruit, medium weight for now, good length and balance.
Red
2009 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras
93 points
Small glass, brief note. So good already, with upside. Good if ripe red fruit, then a burst of energy leading to a long, long finish.

Red
1985 Maison Leroy Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru La Richemone
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Mature red fruit with lots of earth. Similar flavors that don’t quite show 1985 ripeness and density, but still very good.
Red
2013 Domaine Dujac Clos St. Denis
Small glass, brief note. Lots of backward red fruit with background spice hints. Lots here, but very backward. Needs time, but very good potential.

Red
1992 Domaine Leroy Clos Vougeot
Small glass, brief note. Enjoyable and fully mature red fruit with slightly more earth and medium/good weight. Very good for the vintage.
Red
2005 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Echezeaux
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Lots of red and black cherry with savory Asian five spice. Just so brooding today, it is teasing us with its 2025- very good (92-93 point?) potential.
Red
2007 Cecile Tremblay Echezeaux
92 points
Broad array of red fruit. Medium/ good weight and very good textures and balance, with an expanding finish. Very good now.
Red
2001 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Echezeaux
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Great nose. Mature red cherry, berry, earth, autumn flowers. Similar flavors with good weight and length, just slightly less alluring or bright.
White
1990 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Wow, shocking upside surprise. Very ripe (of course), but so fresh and dense with an impressively long finish.
White
2016 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne
87 points
Small glass, brief note. Very enjoyable, just simple. Enjoy young.
Red
1985 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-Du-Milieu
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Great nose of mushroom, earth, mature red cherry and floral hints. Less excited on palate, but I was told it was more interesting when opened 4 hours earlier.
Red
2008 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Bonnes Mares
94 points
Small glass, brief note. Popped and poured. Already complex black and red cherry with so much concentration. Slightly backward, yet so elegant.
Red
1976 Faiveley Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale
Small glass, brief note. Somewhere between the 18th hole and the 19th hole.

White
1996 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet
Small glass, brief note. Open 5 hours before I tasted. Very dense, rich and butterscotchy with fresh and dried stone fruit. Lots of power. 93 points now, but I expect it might have been even better a few hours back.
Red
2012 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée
88 points
Small glass, brief note. Black fruited than typical for Vosne with good richness and density for Villages. Slightly spicy with some roasted meat. Good+ balance and length for its level.
Red
2009 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Broad array of bright black fruit with dried herbs and licorice. Very good + balance, good+ length. Close to its peak drinking window.
White
2013 Paul Pernot et ses Fils Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Wonderfully floral with rich stone fruit and fun, rounded textures that make it so fun now. Served slightly too cold, that might have detracted from its overall enjoyment.
Flight 2 (19 notes)

flawed
Small glass, brief note. Flat. Interesting but lacking.
White

2002 Domaine de la Vougeraie Musigny
94 points
Small glass, brief note. Tasted blind, I thought RSV from 1999. Rich, spicy with so much red fruit and definite Grand Cru density.
Red
1993 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots
94 points
Small glass, brief note. More black than red fruit, but really dominated by stunning spice. Powerful and amazingly fresh. Very long.

Small glass, brief note. Was this 1992? Or 1993? Answer was obvious to me. Elegant and nicely styled with medium weight. Very easy to enjoy.
Red
1996 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg
Small glass, brief note. Lots of complex material here, but long in the tooth.
Red

Small glass, brief note. Very pretty red fruit with spice hints. Charming, but not quite Grand Cru density.
White - Sparkling
1966 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon

Small glass, brief note. Fully, fully mature but so rich, layered and complex with toast and butterscotch throughout with baked apple.

2000 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Clos de La Bussière
88 points
Small glass, brief note. Black fruit, maturing gracefully but still behind rather firm tannins. Better to cellar further.
