Community Tasting Notes 20

  • Woodbridge Brad Likes this wine:

March 29, 2020 - Cellar Triage Tasting In the Days of Plague (Home): Great color, the excess oak made this a time capsule and preserved it like a Retsina. Been in my cellar since it was bottled, it was a QC sample off the line. The cork was quite sound, it has thrown a few tartrates, the ullage was less than a quarter inch. Aromatically it has some mild honey and citrus notes and the oak has finally aromatically integrated, remarkably youthful. The texture is mild oak tannins but remarkably soft. Never liked the style young but this is ok. Amazing experiment.

November 30, 2013 - For the oak and butter crowd, this is phenomenal. Incredibly soft oak, almonds and a long finish. Bravo!

May 14, 2013 - DOUBLE BLIND 95+ DINNER @ DEERING BAY YACHT & COUNTRY CLUB (WINE CELLAR @ DEERING BAY YACH & COUNTRY CLUB, MIAMI, FL): Light greenish gold. Orange blossom, crushed rocks, and honeysuckle. Great minerality. David's wine.

March 4, 2013 - Delicious. Agree with previous notes that body is lighter than expected. Lime and mineral. Flavors are very subtle.

September 23, 2011 - Delicious. Body was a little lighter than expected and delicate. Oak is subtle. Alcohol was hardly noticeable. To be critical, it was a little short on acidity.

(Marcassin Chardonnay Three Sisters Vineyard) Spritzy grapefruit and sweet apple nose with a bit of sulfur; creamy, low acid, lime and flat Chardonnay fruit; short-medium finish (probably a faulty bottle)
