December 28, 2019 - Decanted for two hours, ahead of the beef stew. Nose is mettalic fruity. Finish is velvety raspberry. Drinkable now. Substantial fruit, should stand up to the stew, if any remains!

May 19, 2019 - Dark purple fruit - blackberry, currants, dark raspberry, and a little blueberry. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth/concentration and a nice purity, however, I thought the fruit was a little bigger/fuller around a year ago. In addition, I thought it was more flavorful/expressive around a year ago. Nice rich flavors of dark berries and some spice box/licorice. Fairly long finish. Popped/poured but drank out of a decanter for a couple hours. Not much improvement with time but at a nice drinking point. 100% cab.

March 15, 2019 - Fruit and tannins are good. Sweet vanilla oak combined with RS overpowers this wine. I know some like this style, but I just don't. One of the first Mike Smith wines I've disliked.

December 31, 2018 - Drank over two days. Initially not much happening on the nose. I was hoping it would open up with time, but it never did. The palate is big, dense, rich, with candied blue fruits. This is a cocktail wine more than a food wine. Perhaps I opened this at the wrong time, but I was hoping for more complexity and depth.

December 26, 2018 - I got 8 of these on release. I have already drank 4. They are just too good not to drink now. I have made the mistake and held wine that I thought was drinking well too long just because it was early in it's drinking window. Not anymore - if I find one that is drinking this good then I will keep drinking them. This is killer. Right in my wheel house.
