December 10, 2021 - blown over by the concentration of sappy powerful red fruit out the gate. John and I looked at each other on the first sip and gave each other that look. With time the fruit focuses and strengthens in the middle core. The depth of flavor is mind bending on the wine. It's just an absolute crate of cooking spice and red fruit melange that's free flowing in this vast space. I imagine one of those sci fi movies where there's this large box with liquid and this non shaped material moving snake like all over inside and expanding as it moves along. That's how it felt in my mouthreceptors.

March 25, 2018 - Tokyo Visit; 3/22/2018-3/25/2018: By the glass at Enoteca Hiro in Tokyo. Smoky earthiness. Reminds me of the rsv I’ve had before tho not enough time to be sure.
Palate showed dark red fruit with the same persistent smokiness. Delicious. Quite oaky and tannin with medium high acidity. Clearly needs many many years. But should be quite good. just a slight notch below the Noellat GE today.
