Community Tasting Notes 5

February 2, 2020 - Deep ruby color; Smokey oak and blueberry notes on the nose; Blackberry jam and smooth vanilla on the palate; light pepper finish. Might be at its peak now!

September 4, 2018 - Dark garnet. Red and dark fruit, oak (vanilla, smoke), tertiary (earth, game, moca). Developing. Dry palate, medium + acidity, high, grippy, chalky tannins, medium + alcohol and body, flavours similar to the nose, med finish. Wood dominates this wine, and the tannins are really high and grippy. I’m not convinced this is going to come round. It’s good quality, but lacks the balance and depth and complexity of flavour to be anything better.

September 30, 2016 - Nice traditional oaky Rioja.
All the correct aromas and flavours - eucalyptus, plums etc., showing good balance between fruit/tannins/vanilla.
    Pleasant rounded finish.

August 13, 2016 - Earthy, plum, charry aromas, pain grille, lavender, Mint, roasted coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, bitter chocolate, forest floor. Very intense palate, a bit dry. Long Finnish. Great again potential.

May 21, 2015 - Historical Bodegas Bilbainas Tasting Event (plus dinner at La Piperna) (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): If you're a beaver, you're a lucky guy! What a woody wine!
Graphite and vanilla aromas or smokie chimey or new wood cutting even but who needs this? On the palate is unpleasant.
It seems a Priorat wine. Out of the market circuit, fortunately?

Si eres un castor, encantado. ¡Menudo esticazo!
Grafito y especias tipo vainilla o humo de chimenea o incluso madera recién cortada. ¿Quien necesita esto? En boca es por momentos algo desagradable.
Parece un Priorato. Todavía está sin comercializar, ¿afortunadamente?
