Commemorative of the 106th vintage.
Coupage of 90% Tempranillo plus a 5% of Graciano and Garnacha each. French oak at 20% which was new one at 15%.
Very appetising on the nose, notes of compote adding liquorice and violets but, where the hell is Rioja here?
In spite this extraordinary vintage, very difficult to drink it up. Showed astringent, too much acid absolutely unbalanced between fruit and tannins.

Horrible en boca con acidez disparada y sin equilibrio entre fruta y taninos. Astringente y difícil de beber pese a la añada

Graphite and vanilla aromas or smokie chimey or new wood cutting even but who needs this? On the palate is unpleasant.
It seems a Priorat wine. Out of the market circuit, fortunately?

Very youthful wine, too much acid even. Almost a citric on the palate, hidding every element. Its time will come. Call me radical but this is probing that to open a GR bottle with less than fifteen years old is a waste of time and money.
12% graciano. Muy joven pero ácido hasta la médula. Casi un cítrico en boca tapando todo. Su tiempo llegará. Llamadme extremista si queréis pero esto es una prueba más de que abrir un GR con menos de quince años es una pérdida de tiempo y dinero.

Tons of new french oak (75%). Little over extracted and pretty difficult to drink at this point. Chocolate and crude cigar tobacco on the nose. Palate showed excessive alcohol yet.
It's time will come someday (?) perhaps for those lovers of international made, high expression wines.

Feeling highly humidity. Corked? First vintage of Vicalanda and was oxidised, out of the trail, any hope on the nose. Unbalanced throat. Considering the outstanding vintage, was it an experiment or just a flawed bottle?

Toffee aromas envilving sweet hints, very biscuity on the nose with a a sightly coffee touch. Well-balanced and elegant. The Garnacha abundance saves the day. Too much evolved for a 40 years old Viña Pomal? Maybe yet delicious and flying high tonite.
Aromas a toffee con notas de dulzor tipo bizcocho en nariz con toques a grano de café. Equilibrio y elegancia. La abundancia de garnacha salvó la cata. ¿Demasiado evolucionada para su edad? Quizás pero deliciosa y a un altísimo nivel en este momento.

2002 L. Aubry Fils Champagne Premier Cru Aubry de Humbert
Effective sparkling wine at the mineral side. Lovely coupage of Meunier PN and Chardonnay with an exuberant initial attack. Can't feeling the Chardo anywhere.
By disgrace that lush nose isn't followed by mouth where the champagne showed more shy and short. Needing little more time? It will benefice indeed.
Un espumoso efectivo del lado mineral. Una rica mezcla de meunier, PN y Chardonay con un ataque inicial muy exuberante. No puedo sentir la Chardo por ninguna parte.
Por desgracia esa opulenta nariz no es seguida por la boca donde se mostró más tímida y corta. ¿Necesita un poco más de tiempo? La beneficiará sin lugar a dudas.

Un espumoso efectivo del lado mineral. Una rica mezcla de meunier, PN y Chardonay con un ataque inicial muy exuberante. No puedo sentir la Chardo por ninguna parte.

Very timid on the nose, maybe highlighting some chalk notes.
Really short in the mouth, little high acidity too probably 'cause this is a young bottle. Nothing more than a curiosity.

En boca muy corta con una acidez algo disparada, seguramente por su juventud. Poco más que una curiosidad.

From a garage winery, the outsider of the night.
Old golden colour for a vivid, lighting nose full of elder, honeyed Chenin Blanc aromas transporting you to Loire immediately. That's a travel!
On the palate watery texture and little short for my expectations. Delicious anyway but this is turning a little unbalanced so better to run.
Even coming from the heart of Rias Baixas, this bottle is made out of the DO.
De una bodega de garaje, la botella inesperada de la noche.
De un color a oro viejo para una viva, iluminada nariz llena de aromas a una anciana Chenin Blanc que te transporta en un momento al Loira. ¡Vaya viaje!
En boca es de textura acuosa y un poco corta para mis expectativas. Deliciosa de todos modos pero se está volviendo ya un poco desequilibrada por lo que yo correría.
Incluso viniendo del corazón de las Rías Bajas, está elaborado fuera de la Denominación de Origen.

Same process on the palate. From harsh and empty to harmonic and savoury. The best drink, the last one.

De un color típicamente Syrah, al comienzo se mostró fuera de si en nariz con aromas a lata de olivas negras que con tiempo se transformaron en bellas violetas y algarrobas dulces.
Lo mismo en boca: de ser áspera y vacía a sabrosa y armoniosa. El último trago, el mejor.

Well-known old chap that in very good vintages needs more than the standard ten years to bloom up. Next bottle in fifteen years or so.

Muy cerrada al principio, a pólvora y perdigones de plomo, después de un buen respiro, comienza a mostrar su armoniosa belleza, tanto en nariz como en boca.
Una vieja conocida que en añadas muy buenas como está necesitan de más de los diez años estándar para florecer de verdad. La próxima botella en más o menos quince años.

Terrific champagne. Class in the glass. Sexy and seductive. I fell in love with that meringue note. Pure lush and opulence keeping on balance and elegance.
Nose is a winner here but palate is consistent and quite long.
Easy WOTN. Second time I meet this and always delicious.
