July 13, 2023 - Surprisingly dark golden color. Smelled a bit like brown sugar. Honeyed sweetness and a nice acidic balance. Had with grilled pork chops, which worked really well despite the sweetness. Very enjoyable now, as it will be I’m sure in 20+ years.

November 25, 2022 - Exceptional balance. Drank with Thanksgiving pies.

June 4, 2020 - I guess I should have read what Moelleux meant, before I opened this random white wine for our Mahi, not knowing that it was a botrytis-y dessert wine. The good news is that the bottle was gone by the time the fish was ready. Golden color, delicious sweet fruit. The acidity nicely balances the sweetness, as others have said, makes it hard to set the glass down.

April 22, 2020 - My recommendation for a Huet 1ère Trie from a great vintage (like 2015): wait at least 15 years (from vintage on). The wines need a long time to show their complexity and to open up. To me, Huet does one of the greatest (residual) sweet Chenin Blancs - but you have to be patient.
IMO it's nonsense to drink them now.

September 3, 2018 - I enjoyed this bottle, but did not love it. I am assuming that it has to do with it being such a young wine, but I got mostly apple juice on first sip, with some apricot, passion fruit, and honey on the finish, which was impressively long. I was maybe expecting too much, but I'm going to wait until at least 2020 to open another bottle of this in hopes that it will develop some more layers by that time.
