April 13, 2024 - Dark purple, lush dark fruit, dark cherry, plum, spice, smoke, mineral notes, firm integrated tannins, long finish

March 3, 2024 - First time with this bottling; I really like the Il Marroneto regular Brunello; this was also good, but for my particular palate not better and maybe actually not as good as the regular bottling. It was bigger and richer with ripe red berry fruits; almost in a liqueur like style; mint, anise, forest floor, and a whiff of worn leather. The palate is big, pretty tannic, and has a bit of alcohol noted on the back end. It is certainly tasty with food, but I would prefer more acidity and less alcohol. Still has plenty of time ahead of it based on this bottle.

    December 1, 2023 - used Corivan
Color was still ruby red. nose has spice box, smoke and earthiness. Dark cherry and herbs. Incredibly tannic, addition of cooked fruit and leather.

October 1, 2023 - Exceeded expectations, and was the unanimous winner in a blind tasting vs five 2010s - Costanti, Fuligni (came in 2nd), Argiano (3rd), Canalicchio (4th, but I prefered it to the Argiano), Pertimali (seems in a "dumb" phase). Also beat the 97 Le Chiuse (very good). So an off-vintage of this beats great producers of the legendary 2010. Astounding and must get more, from every vintage.

September 4, 2023 - First experience, and an off-vintage. Nonetheless understand reasons Brunello lovers have such positive reactions. So alive, acids, tannins, fruit. Probably gets even better for a few more years. Have 3 left so will search out better vintages and test it.
