January 28, 2023 - Corked, and what a shame it was. Good stuff under the hood. Better luck to you…

March 23, 2021 - Subsequent notes on this wine from five years ago. Deep, dark reddish-garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Fill, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with classic overtones of cedar, floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty, graphite/iron, tobacco & leather, minerals, herbs, eucalyptus/mint, cocoa, spices, & a touch of oak & vanilla. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruits of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with earthy, spices, herbs, cocoa, minerals, oak & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit, structure & balance to hold for a few more years although I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging. Even at 30 years of age, it is a remarkable wine. Cork was clean & intact; fill was mid-level in neck.

February 3, 2019 - Tasted blind, this wine had a deep purple/red center with reddish rims. Clearly, this still looked rather young. The medium+ intensity nose showed black cherries, red dust, and some honey.

In the mouth, this wine was rich and ripe with rounded tannin, good acidity, and nice length.

I wonder how long this bottle was open and if it would have showed more if given more air. I tasted a wine that was very nice but not particularly special.

(Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace) Slightly bricking dark red violet color; very appealing, bright, ripe currant, light cedar nose; poised, tasty, tart red currant, cedar palate with plush, fine tannins and good balance; medium-plus finish
