January 20, 2018 - Taste Wines from Spain (San Diego Wine Co.): 40% Carignane, 40% Syrah, & 20% Grenache; 14% ABV

    N: RIPE berries (crans?)

P: LM body; NICE frt met by firming yet almost swtish astringency which morphs into a LONG, tangy/swt finish. For now & into, poss through, '21. My VG; 92 pts Suckling, 91 ea Vinous & '17 Peñín Guide to Spanish Wine, 90 Guia Repsol, 89 WS, 85 Gilbert & Gaillard, and 13/20 El Mundo Vino. [This vendor's $12.99 is competitive.]

January 13, 2018 - Delicious food friendly wine. There is a ripe dark fruit character on the nose and palate that fills the mouth with flavor. A Smokey note on the finish makes this perfect for grilled meats and tomato sauce. I served it with a rustic sausage ragout and it sang. Lots of goodness for the price tag.

July 14, 2017 - Harsh alcoholic nose; off-putting. Much better tasting though but nothing amazing. Finish is skinny especially after the solid 92 Ridge that I started with. Not bad for a grocery store wine under $20 though it is a far cry from the advertised 92.
