June 3, 2021 - An intense magical nose of maturing fruit, earth, meat, tea and spices. The palate is somewhat light though still delivers a nice, complex finish.

June 3, 2021 - Beaune 1er Cru Tasting, in Both Shades (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Great aromas of a ripe, fully mature Burgundy with spice, earth and mature cherry. Palate was much less complete and certainly less bright and exciting. Blind flight, we know this was a vertical or horizontal, and I thought 1990 horizontal based on the ripeness and age of the Ursules.

November 8, 2020 - Terrific, well stored bottle from an original carton. Strawberry and rhubarb nose match the taste perfectly. Everything about this wine is in harmony. Distinctively older but in the best way. Ready to drink. Maybe has three years of goid drinking to go.

July 5, 2020 - No decant. Opened about one-half hour. Black ruby. Complex nose, earth, dark red fruit. In the mouth, an opulent mature Beaune. Nice finish. While likely better a few years ago, this is drinking beautifully now, at age 30.

September 12, 2019 - What a treat since I was expecting a wine that would be somewhat over the hill. Started drinking 30 minutes after opening without decanting. Subdued bouquet of earthy pinot. The wine still had rich color with only a tad of bricking at the edge. Flavours were surprisingly fresh for a 1990 with depth and a strong finish. Very enjoyable!
